I'm not sure why they are really called miniguns. The aren't really that small and they chuck ammo down range like water through a firehose. I think they get a bad rap. I think they need a new name. From now on, Miniguns are now going to be refered to as "fire breathing, lead spewing, devil dragons of carnage".
