Inferno
San Diego. I flew in Monday evening and saw one of the fires from the air from about 2000 ft. Words cannot describe the sight of miles of fireline, dotted by burning homes throughout. I lost count of the structures ablaze.
Yesterday I could barely make out the downtown skyline from Coronado. The ash and smoke were hard to miss in my throat, and I wasn't even close to the fires. Today it's a little better, the winds have simmered a bit. I hope it rains. Pours.
My prayers go to my new friends and the thousands of others who have nowhere to go, who have lost all but their lives.
